Using the knife blade, slightly separate the cover just enough for the small edge of the screwdriver to enter and pry it open

Remove the fill plug and Empty the hopper/cartridge and clean thoroughly by using a vacuum.. This step is very important; better cleaning of the cartridge and not mixing previous toner with new toner, the better quality printing result.

After cleaning the cartridges Fill the toner hopper with the proper amount of toner for use in Samsung ML-1665, and tightly close with the plastic lid.

Replace the chip with a new one and sliding it in place.

NOTE: Under normal working conditions the printer will eventually call for toner cartridge replacement. The printer will need to read a new chip to reset the counters and to print. For this reason, it is recommended that testing be done with a shop chip first and once print quality is assured, a new chip be installed in its place.

Install the end cap and use any tape to secure it together. Make sure that the tapes are no cover the chip or any metal contact.

PRINTING TEST PAGES Turn the printer on and press the one-touch button until the “Ready” light blinks fast three times, then twice slow, release.

Optional step. These steps below are optional not require.

For some reason you don’t want to using the tapes to secure the cartridges together (most of the time is for resell reason)

Place the cartridge in a vertical position, punch a center mark on the plastic rivet shaft, and drill it out with the 3/32″ bit , to a depth no more than 1/4″.

Slowly thread a 1/8″ black screw into the hole. Screw all the way down. Perform the same procedure on every other rivet including the cartridge top cover (a total of 8 pieces) but DO NOT disassemble the cartridge yet. The idea is to have all the riveted points replaced with the proper screws perfectly threaded before proceeding to disassemble the side covers and the top. Once all the screws are installed, proceed to remove them and disassemble the cartridge in the following fashion

1 . Open the front door and take out the waste toner box by pressing on the directions that the arrows shows on photo, and display the black UI, witch is located the firts one starting to count from the right, it is the bigger one.

2 . Looking at the front,unscrew the big screw, see at the following photo for locate it. Not possible to fall, it is just for ensure the UI is not moving anymore inside the machine.

3. Next step is slide the image unit out by the holder, till the end.

4. Once out, it cannot drop, guides are holding the kit, take easy.

5. Now we have to separate the drum unit from the developing unit, it is easy to do but please be very carefull not to damage the opc surface of the drum ( suggested action to cover it ).

Look it on the direction of the photo and with the two hands at same time take out the drum while pressing with your fingers.

Note that drum unit is not leaved, just lift it.

6. Once drum unit is out only developer unit will be hanged on the rails,as the photo.

7. Locate the chip on the drum unit and replace for our new chip.

8. Job done. Now we need to install again the drum unit over the developer unit, reverse action from step 5.

9. Ensure that it is properly fit, and push inside the machine again the black image unit till the end, then you can screw again it to the machine and then reinstall the waste toner box back by pressing inside strong until it get armed for end our work.

10.Close the front cover,wait until machine recognizes our new chip,will reset the full lifecycle and will make an stabilization process as a new drum unit installed.

Chip installed SUCESSFULL! Enjoy full lifecycle.

Just recently, like last week, I had to buy a new printer. My old one finally bit the dust! I really didn’t want to buy a new one, you know what a hassle it can be, but the old one just stopped working.

The printer I bought, the Canon pixma 560 wireless, seems to be a good one. The one thing I really like about it is it does incredible photos! I mean, my wife wanted a picture of the grand-kids and it came out every bit as good as what I would get from the local photo processor.

This printer also prints much faster than the old printer. I would say that it prints nearly twice as fast!

The only thing that I am still unsure of is the ink cartridges. They are pretty small and I am not sure how long they are going to last. I will say they are cheaper than the cartridges in the old printer.

If you think you might be in the market for a new printer, I would recommend the Canon PIXMA 560 wireless. It works great!

Below is the instruction for Epson CX7400 Printer, but you can use the same technique for CX5000, CX6000, Cx7000, CX7450, CX8400, CX9400f.

1.Cautions: Thing need to know

• Find an easy-to-clean place to work when working with ink.
• Most of the refillable cartridges & the cartridges come with the ciss that have auto reset chips cannot be mixed with original cartridges; the same situation applies for the non-auto reset chip cartridges.
• Do not use any software and / or chip re setters to reset the chips as it may damage the auto reset chips.
• During printing do not disturb the external ink tank.
• Leave the external ink tank at the same level (see picture above).
• Do not tear off the seal at the bottom of the cartridges.
• Do not touch or scrape the chips.

• Check the printer status to see whether it is normal or not, and check its mechanics for smooth and any damage.
• Printer a test sheet on the nozzle check to see if any gaps appear on the lines in the printout , Please check your printer manual on information how to printer out the nozzle test page.
• 
• If the printer show that broken line, do the printer head cleaning till those are good.
• If the printer is alright then follow the step below for the installation instruction

Note: The ink system will not cause any damage to your printer.

A. Place the ink system on the right side of printer. Press ink cartridges change button located on the top of the printer or please check your printermanual for the information on how to replace the cartridges, The cartridges will move to the changing position.

Open the cover locale in front the printer , Remove the original cartridges Unplug the printer So it’s easier move the cartridges holder later..

B. Locate the printer Cartridges cover lock. Insert the screwdriver in between the joint and gently remove the lock clip

C. Remove the cartridges holder cover

D. Move the printer head to the left side of the printer

E. Take the cartridges and carefully slide them under the bar as

shown on the right. Rest the cartridges on the side of printer in order to perform the next step.

F. Move the printer head back to the changing cartridge position.Insert cartridges into printer. Place all eight straight down into printer carriage.Starting from left to right, gently press cartridges until cartridges lock into place. Note: The cartridges maybe a little big tight when pressing it down.

G. Attach tubing bridge by removing adhesive protector and then placing it directly across from the arrow or place a little bit to the left of the arrow. See picture on the side.. When placing the tube holder, place it an angle to ensure the tube can freely move without interfering with the cartridge holder.

E. * Move the printer head carriage all the way to the right. Make sure there is enough tubing to allow printer carriage to move freely to the right.

* Do the same move for the cartridges carriage all the way to the left.

* If it appears that the tubing is too short or too long, please make adjustments by sliding the tubing to the desired amount.

Locate the 4 small plugs located on top of the reservoir bottle.

Remove all 4 small plugs that covers the air hole. See picture on the

side. Insert the air filter.

A few things to remember when filling the ink cartridges and CISS system.

• Do not set the CISS higher than the printer,

Chip reset:

• Do not use any software and or chip resetters to reset the chip as it may damage the auto reset chips.
• If the indicator light is flashing when printing, it suggests that you need to reset the chip to full status. Please turn off your printer for about 30 seconds and switch it back on. Ink meter bar should show full ink status. You can then start printing as usual.

Nozzle Check:

After setting up, print a nozzle check. If it shows any breaks (it maybe caused by air bubbles in the printing head). Please do a nozzle clean for 1 or 2 times. If it is still showing little breaks, especially for only one color, please turn the printer off. It’s unnecessary to repeatedly clean the printer-head. Just keep the printer unused (turned off) for about a few hours and then print the nozzle check again.

Step 1: Place the ink system on the right side of the printer. Press ink cartridge change button located on the front of the printer or please check your printer manual for the instruction. The cartridges will move to the changing position. Unplug the printer so you can easily move the printer head later.
Step2: Locate the printer cartridges. Insert the screwdriver in between the joint and gently remove the cover off.. Step 4: Move the printer head to the left side of the printer.
Step 5: Take the cartridges and carefully slide them under the bar as shown on the right.

Reservoir Air vent Locate the 6 small plugs located on top of the reservoir bottle. Remove all 6 small plugs that covers the air hole. See picture on the side. Re-insert the plugs into the reservoir loosely so that air flow is possible. Another option is to cut the plug so that it doesn’t cover the air hole.

a. Remove the plugs from the Ink filling hole see picture above

b. Slowly insert ink into the ink cartridges though the ink filling hole, about 15ml for black and 10 ml for each color.

c. insert the plugs back to the ink filling hole.

Step 2: Install cartridges into the printer

Remove your original cartridges install the refillable cartridges. Note the refillable cartridges are not to be used or mixed with original cartridges at the same time.

Remove the rubber plugs out of the air hole for air flow.If these plugs are not remove, the cartridges will not work properly

Step 3: Nozzle Check

Traditionally each printer manufacturer would run their own differing tests to determine page yields and customers ran the risk of comparing apples to oranges when determining the printer page yields from different manufacturers.

Now, fortunately printer manufacturers work with the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and have developed a set of industry standard tests to measure inkjet cartridge page yields.

What is ISO?

ISO is a network of the national standards institutes of 156 countries, on the basis of one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system.

ISO is a non-governmental organization: its members are not delegations of national governments, as they are in the United Nations. Rather, ISO occupies a special position between the public and private sectors. Some of its member institutes are part of the governmental structure of their countries, or are mandated by their governments, while others represent national partnerships of private-sector industry associations.

Therefore, ISO is able to act as a bridging organization in which consensus can be reached on solutions that meet both the requirements of business and the broader needs of society, such as the needs of stakeholder groups like consumers and users.

These tests consist of printing a standard set of five pages, continuously, until the ink cartridge has reached the end of its life. This continuous method of testing is obviously less time consuming and expensive for the manufacturers to perform and whilst may allow an âapples to applesâ comparison, bears little resemblance to real life situations.

The five pages chosen for example are unlikely to be replicated in actual day to day print situations and industry experts estimate that ink printer users only print a few pages at a time and that hours, if not days can pass before an other print job is requisitioned. This type of start/stop printing can dramatically reduce the page yield obtained from a cartridge. Inkjet printers use some ink to keep the printhead nozzles clear to allow the ink to flow smoothly and most printers perform a maintenance operation on start up which also depletes the volume of ink in the cartridge.

Some page tests are measured on page coverage of only 5% for black print, the standard letter test, and areas of solid black or areas of greyscale on the page will have an effect.

Canon are now alone amongst the major printer manufacturers to continue to display the volume of ink contained in their cartridges and it is unlikely they will continue to do so if their competitors have abandoned the practice. HP and Epson until recently had this information available, however on the latest HP packaging only a page yield figure is given and the latest Epson packaging contains no information at all to aid the consumer in a choice. Lexmark have had a tradition of vagueness when it comes to page yield information on packaging and they have reached new levels of ambiguity with their latest XL cartridges, stating 2x More pages and in the small print telling you that the cartridge will last twice as long as another Lexmark cartridge.

It is true that different printer models would yield differing page yields with the same volume of ink, but it is clear this latest trend sheds little more light on the thorny question of how long an ink cartridge should last.
